I remember asking my kids what would be the theme for Christmas 2020. Zelda kept saying a Pikachu Christmas tree. At first I wasn’t sure how I was going to do that. I hopped on Pinterest to gather ideas. I had the idea to use all the Pikachu plushies we have and work from there.
For the Christmas tree, I used most Pikachu plushies to decorate the tree. The tree looked too yellow, so to add a bit of color, I made pom poms of different color and sizes for ornaments. After adding fake snow, the tree was done. Simple and easy but cute.
I wanted a wreath to match the Pikachu tree, so I created one. I made a donut shape out of cardboard and made cuts all around to stick the garland inside. I wrapped the garland around to cover the cardboard. I made a Pikachu face from felt and glued it on a piece of cardboard to hold its shape. I made a pompom of each color and hot glued them to the wreath. The last part was glueing the Pikachu face to the wreath. Added a touch of fake snow and I was done!
It’s not much decor this time around but colorful none the less. The kids are happy so that’s what matters. The making of the pom poms were time consuming. I think in the end, I was fed up making them. But after Christmas, I plan to put them all together and make a rug. We’ll see.
