Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask

I’m a sucker for trying new things. This time it’s the Eva NYC therapy session hair mask. It was that time again to touch up the roots and I like following it up with a hair treatment. I usually try to get products that’s specific for my hair but the lady at the store suggested that this works really well. I took a shot and why not.

Straight from the Ulta website: “Eva NYC’s Therapy Session Hair Mask is a deep conditioning treatment that repairs and strengthens dry and damaged hair. Argan oil feeds hair with vitamins and nutrients, while Keravis delivers optimal anti-breakage benefits and is scientifically proven to dramatically increase strength and flexibility.

It’s a hair mask but it can be used as a conditioner. The texture isn’t thick and it does feel like conditioner, creamy and buttery. The directions only say to leave on for 3 to 5 minutes and then wash off. I decided use the product 4 different ways.

  • The first was in the shower and after shampooing, I applied this and left on for 5 minutes. Feels like you’re applying conditioner and just like conditioner, it left my hair tangle-free and easy to manage.
  • The second time I applied it on my dry hair and left on for 30 minutes. I washed it off and again, hair felt great. Didn’t see a difference from the first time I applied it.
  • The third time I applied the mask in the morning on dry hair and I left it on all day until I showered in the night. The other times my hair felt great but the third time, omg, my hair felt super soft. It was literally butter and it smelled so nice too. After drying and styling, my hair looked and felt healthy.
  • The fourth time, I applied it on dry hair and left it on all day and slept with it. I washed it off in the morning and wow! My hair felt even better. I have damaged ends and I think leaving the mask that long helped give a little bit of life to them. My hair definitely felt so much better.

Overall, I like the hair mask. It leaves hair soft, tangle-free, and it smells nice too. I do think it helped my damaged ends and my hair did feel better after each use. I do think the longer you leave it on your hair, the better.

Would I purchase this again? I don’t know, maybe. It’s a little above my price range for a hair product which is $15. But now that I think about it, it’s a 2-in-1 hair product: hair treatment and conditioner. It won’t last long if used as a conditioner but I wash my hair every 5 days so it has lasted me for a while. Besides the price, I can’t think of anything bad about this product. Maybe next time I’ll get the Mane 10-in-1 Primer since I do like using a serum or oil on my hair before straightening and styling.
