Friendsgiving

Like last year, I hosted Friendsgiving this year and I love doing it. Around the holiday season, it can be hard getting everyone together because of work schedule. Last year was no issue with me since I wasn’t working but this year, I wasn’t sure if I’ll be scheduled to work. Luckily I didn’t but I found out the night before the day we agreed to get together.

So it was on! But I had no turkey and it would be impossible to cook one on such short notice so I decided on a ham. After dropping off Zelda to school, I went to the grocery store and got myself a ham and a couple of wine bottles. Once I got home, I popped that ham in the oven, made my green bean casserole, and started setting up the table. Morning and afternoon went by so quick and then it was evening and the girls started showing up with sides and dessert.

It’s so nice that we find the time to come together and hang out and talk about our lives. We do spend time when we’re free but this has become tradition and we look forward to it. I’ve been friends with these girls for 10+ years. At this point, they’re not friends anymore, they’re sisters. It’s amazing how different we all are yet we get along so well. I’m very thankful to have them in my life. Despite all the changes we have been through, we are still there for each other.

Our next get-together is our annual Christmas dinner, Friendsmas, with a white elephant gift. Another fun moment to look forward to.
