Took a trip to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve in Lancaster to checkout the super bloom of the poppies. I’ve seen the pictures and videos online but being there is a whole different experience. I wasn’t disappointed.
It was a long drive but it was worth it. It’s recommended to go during the week to avoid major traffic and parking issues. The family and I decided to park outside the reserve and walked it from there. You really can’t miss it since you see the colorful orange poppies.
No poppies and other flowers were hurt while taking these pictures. It can be so tempting to just run in the middle of a poppy field but we didn’t and we stayed on the trail. You can clearly tell where people have gone off the trail and stepped on the poppies. I think it’s awful that certain people would disturb nature just for a picture. I didn’t see anyone doing no such thing but believe me, I would have said my 2 cents if I did.
Overall, very beautiful place. So happy we went.
Beautiful photos. We caught the super bloom two years ago there. What a place!
