The red wasn’t cutting it. I was thinking of touching up the color and giving it another chance but I was over the red. At least I tried it again. I was so ready to go black; Not in a depressing way but in a more ‘clean’ and ‘fresh’ start. After what I have been through lately, I needed that and I welcome it.

I have tried Arctic Fox Transylvania back in December 2018 but not because I wanted to. I was going to Guatemala and I didn’t want to have blue hair. I didn’t want to stand out. I was trying to go brown but I failed miserably and I didn’t know how to fix it so I went black with Transylvania. After my trip, I kept it black for only a little bit. I was jealous looking at girls with colored hair. There was so much I wanted to do to my hair. I started lightening my hair and gradually it got lighter to the point that I started adding color. It was a good colorful run. Now that I think about it, I started my blog in 2019 when I had black hair.
Back in August of 2021, I said I was going back to black but before then, I needed to add the yellow, orange, and red tones back into my hair. I remember I had a coworker that went blonde but didn’t like it so much and a week later she went back to black but I noticed a green undertone on her black hair. I didn’t get why but after a couple years of experimenting on my hair and with knowledge of the color wheel, my co worker added black dye to her blonde hair and didn’t bother adding any reds before. Black dyes usually are blue base with purple. Blue and yellow make green. Blonde hair and black hair dye will create a green undertone. I didn’t want to make that mistake. After the blue hair, I bleached it to get rid of the blue and then did yellow. From there I went orange and then red. Since I added color back into my hair, I think it made my black hair look ‘natural’.

Today, I’m happy with the new dark change. I look in the mirror and I feel so like my past self but more put together and with an air of certainty and maturity. It’s crazy how natural my hair looks. The dark red tones with the black hair dye made a natural looking dark brown on the crown of my head.

I don’t plan to change it anytime soon. I might switch on using a permanent or demi permanent dye to tackle my stubborn gray hairs. I did saturate my hair really well but gray hairs are very hard to cover. I know when I wash my hair, the color is just going to come off the gray hairs. I’ll deal with it when the time comes.
