Oogie Boogie Bash 2023

We skipped on Oogie Boogie Bash last year but it wasn’t my choice. I blame it on the husband. I was more than willing. By the time he randomly changed his mind and asked me to get tickets, it was far too late since those tickets sell fast. Zelda asked me if we were going and I had to break the news that we weren’t. I told her that next year I’ll get tickets for sure. One year later, I got those tickets and it was worth it.

It’s not required to dress up but you know I don’t miss an opportunity. I let Zelda choose. She chose Mabel from the show Gravity Falls. Link was going to be Dipper. I get asked if Link and Zelda are twins so it was perfect because Mabel and Dipper are twins. I was wondering what Angelino and I were going to be. I knew he had to be Uncle Stan. Me? I decided to be Bill Cipher. The kid costumes were easy. Mine not so much. I decided on the day before the event to do my costume. I don’t know how I did it but I did it.

We got to the park at 6:30pm. The kids are older so they were able to get on the bigger rides like Guardians Of The Galaxy. The ride left an impression because they kept talking about it. I asked if they wanted to get on again and they quickly said no.

We got a couple of drinks and settled on a spot to watch the Halloween Parade. I didn’t think the kiddos would enjoy it since they consider themselves big but I was wrong. They were happy. We hit some trick-or-treat trails after.

I found the Kingdom Hearts photo meet and I was hoping to get a picture with my favorite angry duck. No luck but I’m still happy with my picture with Mickey and Goofy.

We took a mini break and had something to eat plus a second round of drinks. We relaxed for a bit and just admired the crowd for a bit.

We stayed till the end. The kids were beyond tired but happy overall. Oogie Boogie Bash is always fun. Hopefully I’m able to score tickets next year. I wonder what family costume Zelda has in mind for next time.

I wasn’t expecting the amount of love we got for our costumes. Gravity Falls came out in 2012 so I wasn’t expecting many people to know. I was so wrong. The show has gathered an audience over the years. It was awesome getting compliments from kids and adults. If you love conspiracy theories, folktales, and myths, give Gravity Falls a try. It’s a great show.
